A gold-plated revolver that once belonged to the Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa will soon be available for purchase at an auction next month in North Texas.

The gun will be just one of 2,400 historic firearms available at the auction in Bedford December 8-10.

According to the Dallas Morning News, along with the gold plating, the Colt Single Action Army gun has two factory engravings, a 5.5-inch barrel and carved pearl grips. Its pre-auction value is estimated to be anywhere from $650,000 to $950,000, according to Rock Island Auctions.

Rock Island Auctions wrote in a description of the item, "While mystery surrounds Villa's Colt, this piece of history is everything fine arms collectors dream of."

The December auction marks the first for Rock Island after moving into its new facility in Bedford.  A former Walmart, the 90,000-square-foot facility has a showroom, auction hall, vault and offices, along with shipping space.

RIAC Bedford is located at 3600 Harwood Road Bedford, Texas 76021.
