We always hear the duties of police officers are “To Protect and Serve.”  We didn’t know that included dinner.

Police officers in Southlake fulfilled a customer’s Uber Eats order after their driver unfortunately got into an accident in the middle of the delivery.

A woman named Paola and her family ordered food from Hashi Japanese Kitchen.  While in communication with her Uber Eats driver, she received a message that read “This is the Southlake Fire Department.  Your driver was in an accident.  We will be bringing your food by shortly.”

The delivery was captured on Paola’s doorbell camera, which she shared because she "'just wanted to show everyone how awesome the Southlake Police are!'"

Southlake DPS joked on social media, "Paola and the fam were probably in absolute bliss thinking about the shrimp which Alexis M. on Yelp said 'were perfectly cooked, plump and deveined.’”

Details about the driver's accident weren't shared, but according to WFAA Southlake DPS said he would be OK.
