55% of Prosper voters have said "enough is enough!"
Voters Tuesday rejected Proposition C, which would have allowed the construction of a brand new $94 million football stadium for Prosper ISD, which would have been the most expensive high school football stadium in the history of Texas.
According to WFAA, had the proposition been approved construction wouldn't have begun for another three to five years, and was planned to be located at the district's fourth high school, which is set to open in 2025.
Prosper ISD opened its first football stadium in 2019, the 12,000-seat Children's Health Stadium. The district's plan, had Prop C passed, would have all of the district's high schools rotating games at both, rather than having a designated "home field" for certain schools.
Officials hoped to have the new stadium opened by 2028, to coincide with the opening of the district's fifth high school.
