People are always looking for way to get out of work. One of the most commonly used excuses for a midday break is going to lunch and claiming it to be a business meeting. Now, a burger chain is making things a little easier on employees, changing the names of all their menu items to office supplies so workers can expense them.
Toronto-based Good Fortune Burger went viral recently due to their extreme menu change geared towards the work force. According to BroBible, All the food items are now named after office supplies such as; a burger called the Basic Steel Stapler, the Fries changed to CPU Wireless Mouse, and the chicken sandwich is now the Mini Dry Erase Whiteboard. “We just wanted an opportunity to put a smile on some people’s faces and have them have a little bit of a giggle,” said Jon Purdy, Director of Operations at Good Fortune Burger.
Of course, many only feared this could potentially get employees in trouble if they are caught lying on their expense report. However, Good Fortune Burger claims the new promotion is all in good fun. If a worker gets away with claiming to eat a stapler, so be it.
