The Rolling Stones often promote themselves as the world’s greatest rock n’ roll band, and they are doing whatever it takes to live up to that title. With the 40th anniversary of their album ‘Tattoo You’ coming up, the band has decided to re-release it as a special box set, and according to guitarist Ronnie Wood; fans can expect some new music as well. Along with the box set’s release, Wood claimed the band “have done nine new tracks.”
Released in August 1981, the Rolling Stone’s LP ‘Tattoo You’ including songs such as; ‘Start Me Up,’ ‘Neighbours’ and ‘Waiting on a Friend.’ The album went on to sell 4 million copies in the US, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. Now, just as they did for their previous album re-issues, the ‘Tattoo You’ box set will include plenty of new material for fans to enjoy.
Along with the upcoming ‘Tattoo You’ re-release, Ronnie Wood also detailed upcoming new music from the Faces and a Jimmy Reed tribute album.
“I’ve had a front-row seat on some amazing rock n’ roll projects these past couple of weeks. I’m making every day count,” said Wood. The Rolling Stones may be getting older, but they are showing no signs of slowing down.
