The City of Denton Animal Shelter was recently contacted after somebody tried to ship nearly 200 turtles through a local FedEx office.
Thankfully, FedEx employees confiscated all the animals before they could be mailed away and housed them in an office space before officials could respond.
According to WFAA, Local Fish and Wildlife representatives as well as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have begun an investigation into the matter.
The turtles have since been moved to the Dallas Zoo, where officials say they are now safely housed.
