The International Day of Happiness will be celebrated next Thursday, March 20.
As such, the personal-finance website WalletHub released a survey of the happiest cities in America, and North Texas got some love in the top twenty!
WalletHub ranked more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 29 key indicators of happiness, including the depression rate, to income-growth rate, to the average leisure time spent per day.
Through their findings, Plano ranked as the 17th happiest city in the nation.
Plano was the highest ranked city in Texas, followed by Austin at No. 59, Irving at No. 81, Garland at No. 101, Grand Prairie at No. 113, Dallas at No. 124, Fort Worth at No. 125, Arlington at No. 128, Houston at No. 151, Laredo at No. 152, Lubbock at No. 155, Amarillo at No. 156, El Paso at No. 158, San Antonio at No. 164, Corpus Christi at No. 167, and Brownsville at No. 170.
