This weekend is one of celebration.
It’s the 4th of July, America’s 250th birthday, and the Texas Rangers cementing themselves forever as a Guinness World record holder.
You may be thinking to yourself: “One of those things doesn’t sound like the other,” but in honor of America turning 250, this Saturday the Rangers are partnering with Budweiser to attempt the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Glass of Beer” in recorded history.
According to a release from MLB, a 12-foot-tall, 600-gallon glass beer stein will be placed on the North Plaza near Texas Live! and begin filling from the bottom with Budweiser’s classic American lager beginning at noon on Saturday, before the Rangers game against the Detroit Tigers.
Once the stein is fully filled up, a representative from Guinness World Records will be on hand to verify it as a world record held by the Texas Rangers & Budweiser.
The current Guinness World Record for the Largest Glass of Beer is 550 gallons, set in the United Kingdom on July 6, 2014.
