Tesla drivers in Texas have the ability to use a perk in their vehicles only available to them and fellow motorists in Arizona: Tesla's "Full Self-Driving" system.

While it was designed to offer assistance in the form of lane changes and stops at traffic lights, some customers are hopeful that it will allow their Teslas to be driven completely autonomously.

According to Chron, the system gained controversy after the National Traffic Safety Administration started receiving reports of it being involved in multiple crashes.

Tesla intends to collect date from drivers utilizing Full Self-Driving, and have warned that it is "intended for use with a fully attentive driver, who has their hands on the wheel and is prepared to take over at any moment."
