Texans along the path of Hurricane Beryl are still dealing with the effects.  Homes have to rebuilt, families have to be contacted, and pets need to be returned to their owners.

Thankfully, there was a sweet reunion of an East Texas educator and her animal that was reported missing due to the storm on Monday.

Amanda Galyean didn’t have to wait long to be reunited with her beloved Quigley, as the pair were reunited safely Tuesday morning.

Galyean is also known as The Creature Teacher, and Quigley is a kangaroo.

We had no idea that kangaroos could be kept as pets in Texas.  In fact, according to KLTV,  Texas is only one of thirteen states where such a practice is allowed.

In a video posted to Facebook, Galyean said Quigley “found his way home” after being missing, and was amongst her other kangaroos as she went out to take care of them Tuesday morning.
