Last year, a volunteer and park ranger at Big Bend National Park in Brewster County, Texas discovered a new "wooly" plant species never seen before by man!
The volunteer uploaded a picture of the plant to an app where botanists around the world tried to identify it. Just recently, and more than a year after its discovery, it was identified as a whole new species.
It's official name is the Ovicula biradiata, but according to NBC DFW it's also affectionately known as the "wooly devil."
Big Bend National Park Superintendent Anjna O'Connor wrote in a news release, "Now that the species has been identified and named, there is a tremendous amount we have yet to learn about it.
"I'm excited to discover whether there are other populations in the park, details of its life cycle, what are the pollinators, and due to the current drought, if it will be observed at all this spring."
