Collecting baseball cards is more than just a hobby these days. For a lot of collectors, it’s a way of life, and even the way they make a living.
Trade shows, card shops, they’re all packed with people of all ages looking to complete their set or score a 1 of 1 of their favorite player.
For Texans, we take baseball cards seriously.
New research from DuelBits found Texas to be the second most baseball card-obsessed state in the nation, ranking only behind California.
The study analyzed each state’s annual Google search volume for 52 baseball card search terms including each MLB team’s cards, the top five baseball card manufacturers and the top 10 most valuable baseball cards to determine their rankings.
California and Texas topped the list, followed by New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Georgia, New Jersey, and North Carolina.
