It looks like the acting bug that sunk its jaws into Metallica frontman James Hetfield prior to his role as Officer Bob Hayward in Netflix's Ted Bundy flick Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is still not satiated.

While his role is yet to be revealed, according to reports, Metallica frontman James Hetfield is set to star alongside Game of ThronesPeter Dinklage and rocker/actor Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers) in a new, dark-western thriller for Tubi called The Thicket, based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Joe R. Lansdale.

"This elevated western thriller led by Peter Dinklage and an exceptionally talented team of artists delivers on genre expectations while adding so much more to make the journey into 'The Thicket' unique and mesmerizing," says Tubi Chief Content Officer Adam Lewinson.

Set at the turn-of-the-century, Dinklage, also serving as producer on the project, plays the role of a bounty hunter named Shorty out to rescue his sister, kidnapped by violent killer Cut Throat Bill played by Lewis, and her cohorts. Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Macon Blair, Ned Dennehy, Andrew Schulz, and Arliss Howard are also reportedly part of the cast, now filming in Alberta, Canada.

Things have been steadily ramping up for Hetfield on the music side of things, with the release of the band's third single from their upcoming 2023 album 72 Seasons arriving this week, and world tour preparations that will have them on the road well into 2024.
