From tattoos to zydeco, it's going to be a good weekend across the Bay Area with lots of things to do on February 29 and March 1. KCBS Radio reporter Megan Goldsby has lots of suggestions in this week's To Do List.
This free class gives you a chance to relax, or get invigorated by practicing yoga in nature, and in a community. Make sure to bring your own mat, and a friend if they're interested. Children and dogs are also welcome.
The class is in the Grove/ Picnic area between Queen Wilhemina’s Gardens, the tulip windmill and 47th Avenue.
It's the final weekend of this jazz festival, with music across Silicon Valley.
"We call this our cool compliment to our big summer fest," said Brendan Rawson, the executive director of San Jose Jazz. "At the opposite end of the calendar year we have about two and a half weeks of programing, 28 performances over those days, distributed throughout downtown and reaching up to Palo Alto."
It isn't just jazz either. There will be zydeco, blues and latin jazz as well.
Find out what it was like to actually live at the Point Bonita lighthouse from the days when it saved sailors lives from the rocky shores as the third lighthouse on the West Coast. Docents along the trail offer those glimpses into history, and answers about the lighthouse's current job.
You don't have to be inked up to enjoy the annual Santa Rosa Tattoos & Blues event this weekend.
"Everyone comes to this because of the car show, the car scene and the music," said Daniel Dorsett, the owner of Santa Rosa Tatoos and Blues. "In three days we will have 16 bands, so it's a big event beyond the tattooing convention." Of course the tattoos are a huge draw as well. You can check out well-known and emerging artists, and even get some ink done yourself.
Tickets will be for sale at the door and on eventbright. It's $20 for a day pass or $35 for both days.
