An air quality advisory was issued throughout the Bay Area on Saturday as wildfire smoke continues to travel down from the Dixie, Caldor, and Cache fires in Northern California.
Smoke hanging stagnant offshore is causing hazy skies and moderate air quality in Fairfield, Fremont, Livermore, Napa, Oakland, Redwood City, San Francisco, San Jose, San Rafael and Santa Rosa, Bay Area Air Quality reported.
This advisory follows a Spare the Air Alert issued from Thursday to Friday throughout the Bay Area as air quality was deemed "unhealthy for sensitive groups."
According to the Bay Area Air Management District, when Spare the Air alerts are issued, "Bay Area residents should consider limiting outdoor activities." It's also recommended that residents take alternative means of transportation, such as "public transit, carpooling, or biking."
The wildfire smoke is expected to clear on Sunday for all areas.
