SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Napa County's district attorney is denying social media rumors – prominently peddled by a former president's son – that DUI charges against Nancy Pelosi's husband will be dropped.

"No decision has been made at this time," Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley said in a statement on Thursday. "Any speculation to the contrary is incorrect. When a filing decision is made by the Napa County District Attorney, the media and public will be notified."

Haley said Paul Pelosi's case "is currently under review to decide what, if any, charges will be filed," something she clarified was "standard protocol for any DUI case that is referred by a law enforcement agency in Napa County."

The statement comes just hours after Donald Trump, Jr. falsely claimed on Twitter that "all charges have reportedly been dropped" in Pelosi's case.

He followed it up with a series of tweets blasting Democrats, claiming "the rules don't apply to Dems" and "they just want you to abide by what they say not what they do. Recurring theme!"

Trump, Jr. later said: "Just delaying the inevitable. You know it. I know it.
Everyone knows it."

Pelosi is scheduled to appear in a Napa County court on Aug. 3 following his arrest last month. He was booked at the county jail on charges of driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher. The arrest on May 29 reportedly came after Pelosi's Porsche was hit by another vehicle near Yountville, Calif.
