The Vacaville Police Department announced on Tuesday afternoon that Tyler Kincaid, 25, had been found in Southern California.
Solano Community College officials said in a Facebook post last Friday that Kincaid had not been heard from for two days after leaving his Vacaville home for Cal Poly Pomona, where he was transferring this fall.
Facebook users shared the post nearly 550 times, and college officials credited those who shared it. Vacaville police said "allied agencies throughout the state, as well as the vigilant members of his family and the public" helped locate Kincaid. Police said officers used roadside cameras and license plate readers to look for Kincaid's 2020 Subaru Impreza.
Cal Poly Pomona's fall semester began last Monday. A university spokesperson confirmed to KCBS Radio that Kincaid is registered at the school this fall.
She added that Cal Poly Vice President of Student Affairs Christina Gonzalez was in contact with the family and Cal Poly Pomona President Soraya M. Coley was in touch with the President of Solano Community College during the search.
“We are grateful to Solano Community College and all collaborating agencies for the care and concern expressed for Tyler’s well-being," Coley said in a statement. "We are relieved that he has been located and look forward to welcoming him to Cal Poly Pomona and supporting his success as part of the Bronco family.”
