Overnight closure on southbound US 101 in San Mateo County for sign replacement

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Caltrans is closing southbound U.S. 101 in San Mateo County on Sunday from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. for overhead sign replacement work.

Caltrans will replace an overhead sign bridge between S. Airport Boulevard and San Bruno Avenue during the overnight closure, the transportation agency said in a release.

Three freeway ramps will be closed including the on-ramp from Produce Avenue, the off-ramp to westbound I-380 and the off-ramp to San Bruno Avenue/SFO/ North Access Road, the release said.

Drivers will be directed to take the Southbound 101 exit at Produce Avenue/ S. Airport Boulevard. They will be led by detour signs to continue on S. Airport Boulevard and then can break off onto 1-380 at the S. Airport Boulevard intersection. Drivers can also choose to get back on the Southbound 101 freeway at the San Bruno Avenue on-ramp toward San Francisco International Airport and San Jose.

Northbound traffic will not be affected by the closures.
