PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) Allegheny County Police are investigating an accident that occurred between a train and a tractor trailer.
At about 5:20 a.m. Thursday morning, the Allegheny Valley Regional Police were called to the 1000 block of Pittsburgh Street where the incident took place.
Assistance from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit was requested for an investigation.
Investigators learned that the driver of the tractor trailer was attempting to make a sharp turn over the rails.
When the truck driver realized the train was coming, he attempted to reverse off of the rails when the collision occurred.
The truck driver, a 55-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.
