PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Nine plaintiffs have filed civil suits against the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh for alleged sexual abuse that occurred long ago.

Claims of abuse from decades ago are normally voided by the Pennsylvania statute of limitation but Superior Court has ruled those claims can be filed by plaintiffs who show a conspiracy.

That’s the case in these claims from eight adults and one estate.

Seven priests are accused and are all named in the 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury report.

Several of the defendants have died and names of the victims, dates of alleged abuse are not in the filings.

Along with the priests, the churches were they worked are also named as defendants.

Claims of fraud, conspiracy, fraudulent concealment and breach of fiduciary duty are in the lawsuit.

The plaintiffs are being represented by Benjamin Andreozzi of Harrisburg.
