PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Tuesday's heavy winds, hail and thunderstorms left behind damage across the Pittsburgh area. Trees are down, blocking roads and downing power lines and the threat for damaging weather continues into Wednesday.
Between Zelienople and Evans City, PA we experienced 3 hour rainfall rates that would be expected to return every 60 to 100 years. So what to does that mean? May 29, 2019 With the potential for more strong storms, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch until 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning for a large portion of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. a Flood Warning is in effect for Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties until 5:00 p.m.
Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through the evening and can bring downpours, hail, and damaging winds and in some cases even a tornado.
