FAYETTE CO, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Charges against Steelers linebacker Anthony Chickillo have been withdrawn.
Appearing before Fayette County Judge Nathan Henning Wednesday, Chickillo and his girlfriend, Canadian pole vaulter Alysha Newman, said they didn’t want to continue with prosecution.
Charges of Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief and Harassment were all withdrawn against Chickillo.
Chickillo was arrested October 20 after a domestic incident.
It happened at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort when Chickillo and Newman got into a physical altercation over table games according to a criminal complaint.
Chickillo claimed Newman hit him in the head.
Newman says she only did so after Chickillo had grabbed her and pushed her against the wall.
Newman was charged with harassment but those charges were also withdrawn.
He was released on $10,000 bail after his arrest.
Chickillo was also placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list last week.
That means he is not allowed to practice play or attend games while on the list.
