HARRISBURG, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced multiple charges against a Pittsburgh lobbyist for allegedly stealing more than $100,000 from small businesses in Pennsylvania.
48-year-old Joseph Kuklis operates a Pittsburgh government consulting firm called Wellington Strategies.
An investigation from the Attorney General's office found that Kuklis would charge business owners a consulting fee and promised funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development and forged documents from the DCED to suggest they won grants.
The investigation found that Kuklis never returned the money he received from the businesses.
Kuklis turned himself into police Tuesday.
