Authorities Searching For Young Boy Who Fell In Ohio River

Police tape sections off active crime scene

(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Authorities in Beaver County are searching for a child they believe may have fallen into the Ohio River near a water treatment facility Monday afternoon.

911 received a call around 2:45 p.m. Monday reporting a child a child in the water along Ohio River Boulevard.


It happened near the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge..

There are reports that all river traffic has been stopped in the area and that drones have been deployed along with divers.

Pittsburgh River Rescue has also been requested to provide more divers. 

KDKA-TV is reporting the boy is 11-years-old and is nearly 4 and a half feet tall.

A PA State Police helicopter is also reportedly heading to the scene.

This is a developing story.  

Crews are still trying to locate a 23-year-old fisherman Kenneth Robinson after he fell into the Ohio River in Neville Township late on Saturday.
