PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Bishop David Zubik is recovering at UPMC Mercy Hospital after a successful back surgery on Monday.
The surgery fused collapsing disks in his spine.
"Thank you to everyone who has kept me in their prayers. During this time of recovery, I will pray for the blessing of our diocese, our region and all of its people," Bishop Zubik said.
Bishop Zubik will rest and work from his residence at Saint Paul Seminary when he is released from the hospital and will not be making public appearances until released from his physicians.
