After over 40 years in business, Hemingway’s Cafe on Forbes Avenue closed its doors for the final time this weekend.
The beloved Oakland bar announced in early January it would be closing and on Sunday, Hemingway’s opened for one last round.
For those that are having a hard time saying goodbye after 43 years, you can own a piece of the iconic bar.
Hemingway’s will be open on May 5 and 6 for an everything-must-go sale.
Frequent visitors will be able to get their picture, if its hanging on the wall, and buy and drafter beer that’s left in the kegs. But, you need to bring your own growler.
Tap handles and neon signs will be for sale, along with pitchers, TVs, small signs and more.
An online auction kicked off Monday at 6 p.m. and you’ll be able to see the auction items in person on Tuesday and Wednesday with bidding taking place through a Google form (will be posted on social media ).
Bidding will remain open until Wednesday at 6 p.m. with the highest bids regularly updated on Instagram and Facebook.
The highest bid at the time of closing will be declared the winner and will have one hour to pay via Venmo or Apple Pay when contacted.
