PITTSBURGH (News Radio 1020 KDKA) – A boil water advisory that had been in effect since Tuesday, February 12th, for Charleroi, North Charleroi, Monessen, and Speers had been lifted.
The Authority of the Borough of Charleroi released a statement saying that after three days of water sampling, all sample results tested negative for any bacteria or other microorganisms.
The advisory was imposed after three breaks occurred on a 16-inch transmission line. The Authority says they will be receiving bids within the next few days to replace that damaged portion and repair an associated pump station.
