BUTLER COUNTY (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - On Thursday, the Butler County Board of Commissioners approved the installation of touchless faucets in public restrooms.

The replacement of the old faucets is being facilitated to mitigate sanitization concerns in the county.

The issue became even more of a hot-button problem during the pandemic.

The board worked out a contract that costs $109,912 but will see the installation of the new faucets in the Butler County Government Center, Courthouse, and Annex buildings.

The costs, however, are covered through the CARES Act.

"This is part of CARES Act funding to make the buildings safer," said Butler County Commissioner Leslie Osche.
