PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - President Trump took four executive orders on Saturday: A payroll tax holiday, protection from eviction, an expansion of unemployment benefits, and a student loan extension of 0% interest.
There is some speculation that these actions are not permitted.
“I don’t think there’s grounds to challenge this - especially unemployment - because again, money has already been allocated to the states. The president is simply re-directing it to go, partially, in to unemployment compensation – instead of these governors that are holding it and keeping the money in the treasury, rather than helping out people in need,” Congressman Guy Reschenthaler said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show on Tuesday.
The unemployment compensation is set at $400 a week, and Congressman Reschenthaler believes it will be available during the next unemployment distribution from the state.
