PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Veterinarian Dr. Mike Hutchinson found out on Thursday morning that the coronavirus can easily spread through cats.

"COVID-19 replicates poorly in dogs, pigs, chickens, and ducks - but efficiently in ferrets and cats," Dr. Mike tells the KDKA Radio Morning Show. "Patients that have COVID-19 with cats - you should probably isolate those cats."

If the animal is infected by the owner, the virus could continue to exist.
