HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Despite numerous protests going on over the course of almost two weeks along with the recent Memorial Day Holiday weekend, new coronavirus cases and deaths are lowering in Pennsylvania.

PA Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine says there have been small localized increases in some counties.

"We have not seen a state-wide increase, the governor (Tom Wolf) has said, we're continuing to see decreases in terms of the number of new cases we're continuing to see decreases in the number of deaths," said Dr. Levine.

Levine says they're keeping a close eye on the trends not only county-by-county but throughout the entire state.

The state reported 410 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and 48 additional deaths, bringing the statewide total to 76,846 positive cases and 6,062 dead.

467,329 have tested negative.
