PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - As the number of Covid-19 cases has fallen over the past couple of weeks in the Pittsburgh area, Allegheny County Health Director Dr. Deborah Bogan says she is considering easing up on at least one regulation.

Bogan says the positive test rate has dropped to 3.9 percent. That's in the good range. The rate of cases is down to 38 per 100-thousand population, that's moderate.

"With all of that in mind, I am reconsidering our limits on outdoor gatherings," said Bogan.

The current limit is 50 people. Other rules like masks and distancing will remain. She says the indoor limit of 25 people will remain and there will be no change soon for restaurants.

Bogan did not say when she will make the change, but did say that it will not be as high as the state's limit of 250. "I want to open things slowly and ease restrictions so we can watch how the virus responds."

She also wants to see the impact of college students returning to the region.
