Coronavirus testing in Pennsylvania
PA Department of Health

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - There are some states that are struggling to get enough COVID-19 tests for the people that need them.

The Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said on Sunday that the issue is with the states rather than it being a federal issue.

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald told Mangino on KDKA Radio Monday that testing needs to be coordinated on a federal level.

"We're all struggling, we're all struggling with testing, we're struggling with the quickness of getting the test results back because if we don't get the results back in a timely manner then that type of data is not as useful," said Fitzgerald.

He went on to say that it is "outrageous" to pass the buck to local officials.
