PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Former Braddock Mayor John Fetterman is preparing for his inauguration as Pennsylvania's Lieutenant Governor tomorrow.

In an interview on KDKA Radio on Monday, he explains his plans and expectations for the next few years.

Here are some of the questions that he was asked:

The Lt. Governors pretty much been a ceremonial kind of position, there to back up the governor if he needs it. Do you want to make it more than that?

“I disagree with that. We are actually in charge of the pardons process for Pennsylvania. That is the only mechanism within the state for that kind of remedy and relief for those individuals,” Fetterman said.

“We'd like to completely revamp and remake that to make sure the people that are deserving of that kind of relief can get on with their lives and contribute more fully to society.”

How do you get along with Governor Wolf?

“The governor is one of the kindest, most authentic people I know. He just gets it done with quiet leadership and I admire and appreciate that about him,” Fetterman explains.

“We get along beautifully. Our spouses, the first and second lady, get along beautifully. I'm just really proud to be his partner.”

Do you want to live in the Lt. Governor’s mansion?

“No, I don't and won't. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania doesn't owe me a place to live. Western Pennsylvania, Braddock and those places, that's why I'm in this,” Fetterman added.

“It’s the service from those kind of communities that have contributed so much. They deserve to be invested in and believed in and that's why I'm staying there, that's my home.”
