3 East Deer Homes Catch Fire After Crash On Freeport Road

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) -  At least three East Deer homes caught on fire late Friday morning after a pickup truck crashed and struck a gas line.

The Tribune Review reports it happened just before 11:30 a.m in the 400 block of Freeport Road.

Police at the scene said the pickup truck might have blown a tire before crashing into the homes.

The truck was destroyed in the fire and the driver’s condition is currently unknown.

No injuries have been reported at this time. 

The Red Cross said on Twitter that they are providing assistance for the residents impacted by the fire.

We are currently en route to Freeport Road in East Deer Twp (Allegheny County) to assist residents impacted by the 3-alarm fire that began when a vehicle crashed into a home.
