PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office released a statement on Friday warning residents about a phone scam involving an individual impersonating a law enforcement official.

In a post on Facebook, the Sheriff's Office said that multiple individuals have reported phone calls from their office from an individual identifying themselves as "Lieutenant Conor Mullen."

The caller goes on to say that victims have an outstanding judicial issue and that they are to supply funding via means such as gift cards and money orders.

The Sheriff's Office said that individuals are not to provide this caller with any of their personal information and that anyone affiliated with the Sheriff's Office would not ask for payment for a citation through those means.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office at 412-350-4714.
