Dense Fog Advisory Issued For Portions Of Western PA

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for portions of Western Pennsylvania by the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service Pittsburgh announced the advisory at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve via Twitter for portions of Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Mercer and Washington counties.

The warning is in place until 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night, the Dense Fog Advisory was expanded to Marshall, Belmont, Guernsey, and Muskingum Counties.

During a Dense Fog Advisory, visibility while driving could drop to one-quarter of a mile or less. 

The National Weather Service advises drivers to use caution while on the road by using low beam headlights and driving at a slower pace, or if at all possible, avoid driving all together.
