PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) -- Sheetz for the Kidz, an employee-driven charity at Sheetz, set a new record during an in-store fundraising event in December.
The month-long event raised $704,658, with 100 percent of those donations going towards buying new toys, clothes, and other basic needs for local underprivileged children.
"We are deeply grateful for our customers' tremendous generosity," said Travis Sheetz, President and COO, Sheetz. "Thanks to their donations, Sheetz For the Kidz was able to make this past holiday season a brighter one for thousands of children and families in need."
Sheetz employees also donated their time by shopping, wrapping, and hosting holiday parties for children and their families.
Thanks to their efforts, Sheetz employees helped make the holiday season merrier for 9,600 local children across the six states the company operates.
