HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The number of cases of COVID-19 in rising in Pennsylvania.

There are 37 additional cases Wednesday to bring the state's total to 133.


All who have tested positive are either in isolation or being treated at a hospital.

"Our reporting has shifted to a daily update at noon based on results reported to the department by 12:00 AM, as the volume of test results continue to increase," Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said. "Pennsylvanians have a very important job right now: stay calm; stay home and stay safe. We have seen case counts continue to increase and the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is stay home."

The numbers come from commercial, hospital and state labs.

1,187 Pennsylvanians have tested negative for coronavirus.

Those numbers do not include the number of pending tests.

There are 15 confirmed cases in Western PA, 11 in Allegheny County, with another presumed positive, two in Beaver County and two in Washington County.
