Coronavirus

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - In Allegheny County's daily update of the Coronavirus Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases grew by 11 with eight new deaths.

The total number of cases in the county is now at 1,235. Of those, 1,193 are confirmed and 42 are probable cases.


Of those cases 257 are in residents and 84 are staff members of 31 long-term care facilities across the county.

There has been 58 reported deaths at those facilities including 10 at the Glen Hazel Kane Community Living Center.

A total of 87 people have now died as a result of COVID-19 in Allegheny County.

Of those deaths, 78 are confirmed (had a positive test) with nine probable. A probable death is one where COVID-19 is on the death certificate but never has a positive test for coronavirus.

The age of those who have died range from 42-103 and 84 being the median age.

16,215 tests have been administered across the county.

There are also nine additional hospitalizations in the county with the total number of those treated, past or present, remaining at 222 past or present.
