PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The number of COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County is now at 904.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases increased by 11 on Wednesday to bring the Allegheny County total to 906.


The 11 new cases are six less than Tuesday's total.

Two additional confirmed deaths brings the county's total to 26 lives lost due to COIVD-19.

All deaths are of individuals ranging in age from 56-103, with 85 being the median age of those who have died.

142 people have been hospitalized, past or present. That's an increase of eight compared to Sunday.

An age breakdown for confirmed cases is as follows:

00-04 – 2 (less than 1%)05-12 – 4 (less than 1%)13-18 – 10 (1%)19-24 –72 (8%)25-49 – 344 (38%)50-64 – 250 (28%)65 + -- 222 (25%)The gender of those who are sick with COVID-19 are listed below:Female – 475 (53%)Male – 429 (48%)

"The best way to beat the coronavirus is to stop its spread. You can help stop the spread of the virus by washing your hands and cleaning frequently touched surfaces often, staying home as much as possible and keeping 6 feet away from people and wearing a mask if you do go out in public," the county said in a release.

The City of Pittsburgh confirmed on Wednesday one of its environmental employees has died as a result of COVID-19, the first employee in the city to succumb to the virus.
