HARRISBURG (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — The state attorney general's office has put together resources for Art Institute of Pittsburgh students.
The abrupt closure of the Strip District school and its online classes earlier this month left many students in debt without degrees.
Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC bought the for-profit school from Education Management Corp. in 2017, and filed for federal receivership, similar to bankruptcy, in January.
Attorney General Shapiro is instructing affected students to see the below links for assistance:
- Art Institute of Pittsburgh: Information regarding who to contact for transcripts and other information.
- Pennsylvania Department of Education: Information for Art Institute students planning to continue education.
- U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid Office: Information related specifically to closure of Art Institutes.
- U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid Office: Information regarding eligibility for discharging federal student loans.
