Peduto: Warns Vandals Will Be Arrested

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto is warning those who are vandalizing in Downtown Pittsburgh will be arrested.

In a tweet Saturday afternoon, Peduto said, “You have turned on the very mission, and more importantly - the people, you supposedly marched for 2 hours ago. You have turned their peaceful march for justice into your self-centered, violent act of attention.”

1Hood, an inner-city activist and artist organization said on Twitter, “Dear Allies, it is imperative that you listen to organizers. These young Black organizers had a clear plan and message that was disregarded. If you fight for Black lives, you don’t unnecessarily place Black bodies in jeopardy.”

Thousands of people protested the death of George Floyd, who was in killed while in police custody last Monday.

Video of the incident sparked outrage all across the country leading to protests all across the United States.

Protests and violence have been reported in cities like Jacksonville, FL, Chicago, IL, Salt Lake City, UT, Seattle, WA, Los Angles, New York City, Cincinnati, OH, Cleveland OH and dozens of other U.S. cities.
