Pittsburgh-Based Company Blasting Trump Immigration Policy

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A Pittsburgh-based high-tech firm is blasting the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

Duolingo co-founder Louis von Ahn tweeted if the U.S. polices against extremely qualified immigration continue, we will be forced to move jobs and inspiration to Toronto.

Duolingo employs more than 300 people based in East Liberty.

Its web and app based language learned is valued at more than $1 billion.

Mayor Bill Peduto responded on Twitter saying Duolingo isn’t alone.

The Trump administration has blocked employment based visas during the COVID-19 economic slump.
