PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Point Park University is preparing to demolish their old playhouse building in Oakland.
It was closed in June upon the completion of the new playhouse Downtown. The Post-Gazette reports officials will be briefed next week on plans to raze the three-building complex across Craft Avenue from UPMC Magee Women's Hospital.
One of the buildings was home to the Tree of Life congregation until 1952, and university officials say they will try to preserve the engraved cornerstone for Tree of Life.
Plans are to sell the lot once demolition is complete, no word on when the work would start.
