PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with an incident involving a man spitting on a Giant Eagle employee at the Edgewood location.
Police say 23-year-old Brandon Thompson spat on a manager after he paid for a $50 money order at the Edgewood location "but then demanded he receive $100 for the money order."
Employees reviewed security footage and found out that the $50 amount was correct.
He is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Police tracked Thompson to a residence in the 400 block of Library Street in Braddock, where he tried to move a television set in front of the door to block police from entering.
Thompson was arrested without incident and the sweatshirt that police believe he was wearing during the incident was also seized.
Thompson was also wanted on a bench warrant relating to a shooting case in 2016 and an April 4, 2020 incident when he fled the scene during a traffic stop.
