PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The third annual UNcathalon that benefits the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, will take place on Sunday, April 28th from 7a.m. to 2p.m. at the Schenley Oval.
It is like a decathlon, but there will be 11 events instead of 10.
“We ask for a coed team of five. This is cooperation’s, friends, whomever; we want to get all of the community involved,” said Jessica Kury, Special Events Manager with the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Monday.
“When you have your team of five together, I then unify the event by placing one of our special Olympic athletes on your team.”
Some of the events include a 400 meter run, a long jump, the shot put and a weighted sled drag.
