PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh confirms a tornado touched down in Beaver County Wednesday night during severe storms around the area.
At least two units have damage but no one was injured.
As of 9 a.m. Duquesne Light reported about 3,000 outages.
Midland and Indiana have the highest numbers of customers without service.
West Penn Power reports over 1,850 customers off the grid in Allegheny County, 120 in Beaver, 590 in Butler, 390 in Fayette, 570 in Washington and 800 in Westmoreland County.
The forecast for Thursday is a lot calmer. Temperatures will be in the mid to high 70s with no rain in the area.
