ALTOONA, PA. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Sheetz convenience stories announced Thursday they will continue to pay their employees $3 more an hour until at least June 4, while the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Sheetz originally said they would extend the $3 an hour pay through April 23 but made the decision to keep the pay increase while the outbreak continues.

“This extension is to express our continued gratitude for our hard working employees,” said Travis Sheetz, President and COO of Sheetz, Inc. “We are so proud of the way they have pulled together to serve the community during this unprecedented time.”

The continued pay increase affects about 17,000 workers at all Sheetz locations.
