PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County health officials and representatives from Allegheny Health Network and UPMC presented a news conference Thursday afternoon regarding the coronavirus.
There are still no known cases in the County, but speakers stressed that most people should follow CDC guidelines and precautions.
They say it is a mild illness, but anyone who's sick should stay home.
Tests for the virus at this time are being done by the state health department, focusing on people most at risk. There will be more widespread testing as of this week.
While Governor Tom Wolf has recommended that people not gather in large crowds but Allegheny County Board of Health director, Dr. Lee Harrison is not making that recommendation.
Dr. Harrison says it is the elderly and those at risk that should avoid large crowds.
Those at risk are people with medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes and lung disease.
As of Thursday afternoon, 22 people have coronavirus in Pennsylvania.
